Applications for the school clothing assistance program are open from 07/28/25 to 08/22/25.

The Wayne Township Trustee's Office offers assistance to residents with school-aged children towards the purchase of school clothing. To be eligible, you must be a Wayne Township resident and meet the program's income guidelines. If your family qualifies, you will receive up to $250 in vouchers per child ($175 for clothing, $75 for shoes).

Please note the following:

Vouchers will be provided to eligible families who live in Wayne Township, regardless of where their children attend school.

Children enrolled in a private school are not eligible, unless proof can be provided that they are receiving a fully paid scholarship.

Proof of enrollment must be provided for all school-aged children.

Proof of address must match the enrollment of the children.

Birth certificates are NOT needed.

To apply, please visit our office at 5401 West Washington Street during normal business hours. Appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend visiting our office before 11:30 a.m. to ensure you can be seen that same day.

You need to bring with you the following information:
1. Identification for all adults in the household 18 years and older. Acceptable forms of ID are current Driver’s licenses, State ID cards, and School IDs. If you have lived in Indiana for more than 30 days, you are required to obtain Indiana credentials.

2. Social Security cards for all household members. If any are missing, you will be seen and given 30 days to provide them.

3. Non-U.S. Citizens. Permanent Residence Card (Green Card)

4. Proof of current residence within Wayne Township. Lease & ledger, or Current Mortgage Statement, or current Property Taxes.
ā
5. All adults 18 years of age and older are required to sign the application.
ā
6. Proof of income for ALL adults in the household for the past 30 days. Pay Stubs, Social Security, TANF, SNAP, Child Support, Unemployment, a statement from anyone supplying support, and app-based work.

7. Proof of how income has been spent for the past 30 days. Receipts, money orders, Bank transactions, pre-paid cards, online apps, Way2Go (child support), Hoosier Works (TANF), and Utility Allotment cards.

8. If any adult in the household is under a doctor's care or has a medical condition that prevents them from working, or has work restrictions, a current Doctor's statement is required.

9. Proof of current school enrollment or a letter from the school (on school letterhead) stating the child/children are currently enrolled at that school from the address on the application.
