The Township Trustees’ Office can assist local veterans with accessing benefits they have earned through their service to our country. From helping to navigate through paperwork, to assistance with applying for VA disability compensation, to helping with survivor benefits and enrolling in VA health care, the Wayne Township Veterans’ Service Officer of Wayne Township is here to be your advocate.

Kay Ross, Veterans Service Officer
The Wayne Township Trustee is proud to add Kay Ross as the Veterans Service Officer (VSO). As VSO, Kay's job is to serve and assist veterans in the Wayne Township community. Her job includes explanation and filing assistance with federal and state veteran benefits, assistance with survivor benefits and enrollment for VA health care.
Kay comes from a multi-generational veteran family; although she is the first female veteran. She became a Marine in 1990. She was stationed at NAS (Naval Air Station) Millington, TN and MCAS (Marine Corps Air Station) Cherry Point, NC and MCAS Futenma, Okinawa, Japan. Her MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) was an Avionics Technician. She worked on the navigation systems (black boxes) on CH46s, CH53s and C130s while stationed in Okinawa and the AV8B Harrier while stationed at Cherry Point, NC.
Kay maintains her connection to the Marine Corps community by being an active member and officer in a multitude of organizations, including the President of the Indiana Chapter of the Women Marines Association, the Indiana Department of the Marine Corps League, the Marine Foundation of Indiana and the Marine Corps Coordinating Council. In addition, Kay regularly attends a multitude of meetings and events within the central Indiana veteran community.
Kay has been a resident of Indiana since 1995 and has resided in Plainfield since 1997 with her Marine husband of 27 years, their two children and German Shepard, Ziva.
