Burial Assistance

The Trustee’s office will provide dignified funeral and burial services when family members are unable to pay for services and insurance is unavailable to cover the costs. Family members or service providers should contact our office with requests so that we can connect you with our partner cemetery and funeral homes.

Working with the City of Indianapolis, the Red Cross, and other local partners, Wayne Township residents should reach out to our office when faced with these types of situations.

Utility Assistance

The Wayne Township Trustee's Office may help with utilities that are disconnected if residents can show that unforeseen circumstances have caused the situation and that short-term assistance would benefit the family.

Rental Assistance

Wayne Township residents can apply for assistance in paying rent by demonstrating a temporary, unforeseen circumstance has impeded their ability to pay. Residents may apply for help with the current month’s rent. All back rent needs to be paid before we can provide assistance because we will work with apartment complexes and landlords to ensure that they will keep residents in their homes when receiving aid from our office.

School Clothing Assistance

Every year between July 1st and August 31st, the Trustee’s Office takes applications from residents needing assistance with purchasing clothing for their children for the school year. An appointment is necessary to apply for the program. To be eligible, you must be a Wayne Township resident and have children enrolled in an accredited pre-school to high school program.
